Product/Sales, Service/Sales
Let's starts with Product and Sales. There are thousands of different products out there on the market. For a consultant to be able to talk intelligently and effectively about your particular product, one would have to be armed with all of the information on the different types of marketing avenues you employ. These different avenues call for answers to these questions. It is sold over the counter? It is sold by direct marketing? It is sold by a sales staff? It is sold door to door? Is it is sold through catalogs or brochures? Is it sold through the Internet? What types of advertising do you use? Is it, direct mail, radio, television, newspapers, or banner ads over the Internet? No matter how many different approaches and components are used in your business. It all flows back to sales.
Next we are going to talk about Service and Sales. As the income and prosperity of American consumers has grown. The service industry has grown at a greater pace. As we have prospered, we now pay others to do what many times in the past; we used to do for ourselves. Here's a quiz, especially for people in their 40s 50s and beyond. Think of all the things you did for yourself, you now pay someone else to do it for you. The service industry, with all the variety and different types of services it offers, has grown by leaps and bounds. The service business is a business of repetition and retention. Because of those two factors; the service business will have a steadier cash flow than some other businesses. Service businesses usually cost less to start. Many times with very little, or no inventory involved. If you, and your company, are good at what you do. You can grow because of the repetition and retention factors, which are part of the service business. There can be a good deal of initial face-to-face selling in the service business. Hopefully, once you acquire a customer by giving good service at a reasonable price. You can keep that customer for years to come. As an added benefit, if those customers are happy, they will recommend their relatives and friends. No matter what type of business you have, it always comes back to sales; because you had to make the initial sale, to get the customer in the first place.
