Earlier we said, income is what makes a business viable and lasting. Expenses, if not controlled, can cause a business to begin to sputter, or stop altogether. If you are planning on staying in business, you must get a handle on expenses. Your expenses should be examined at least, every three to six months. It is better to have an outside, objective source, do the examination. To determine what expenses can be cut without affecting the efficient operation of your business. Don’t ever forget, expenses are profits you will never see. When you cut expenses, you are increasing your profits, sending every dollar saved, straight down to the bottom line. There are some businesses where these expenses are a necessary evil. If you cannot cut expenses, without affecting your businesses, efficiency. You must improve your income to offset this problem, you must increase sales. If you find this impossible to do, it may be necessary to have a consultant come in, to find ways to improve your sales, which in turn increases your bottom line.
